Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nawdays, there is considerable debate about wether childern should allow to make their own decisions in daily lives or wether they should be limited in making their own choicc es. Some people argue that childern should be given their own preorities about themselves, while others believe that parents should be careful about childern's activities. In my opinion, childern should be given freedom, but with in a responsible limit.
On the one hand, the individuals who wants to limit their clidern about making their choicces in every day lives. The excessive freedom of childern can have negative impact on society, because in early age they are not enough metur abaut the side effects of their decisions. For instance, if the parents allows their childern to eat excessive fast foods it will resuts obesity in childhood. Therefor, parental supervision in very essintiol to develope fruitful behaviours in chilldern.
On the other hand, the people who believe that the childern should be provided with power to make their own own decisions which affects the daily life. I completly agree with this perspective, because independent decision-making helps childerns in boosting confidence. For example. alowing a child to choos his cloths, books and games can help him to express personal preferences in future.
In conclusion, Although giving a complete right of making personal decisions may lead to selffish habits, while allowing to make significant choices have positve impact on life. I believe that parents should mentain a balance between freedom and guidness so that childern can become responsible and independent.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear opinion: you acknowledge the risk of selfishness from excessive freedom, then support children making choices because this can build confidence. The examples about fast food and choosing clothes, books and games are relevant and help explain your points. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the argument for parental limits is explained through one health example, while the benefits of children’s decision-making are also asserted rather than explored in depth. The conclusion restates your position, but the contrast between “complete” freedom and “significant” choices could be made more precise. Develop each view with a fuller explanation of how everyday choices affect children and society.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” make the discussion easy to follow, and the examples are placed alongside the relevant arguments. This organisation is effective, though some linking is mechanical and a few connections are unclear. For example, the opening of the first body paragraph (“the individuals who wants to limit…”) is not a complete, clear statement of the opposing view, and the conclusion’s “Although… while…” construction makes the relationship between its ideas difficult to follow. Use more direct topic sentences and ensure each linking phrase accurately expresses the relationship between clauses. Clearer references to the views would also strengthen progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “parental supervision,” “independent decision-making,” “confidence,” and “personal preferences.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the issue beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and many spelling and word-form errors make the writing less fluent to read, such as “wether,” “preorities,” “metur,” and “essintiol.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “given their own priorities about themselves” and “provided with power to make” decisions. Aim to learn accurate topic-related phrases and check spelling and collocation carefully. More precise wording would help you express the distinction between guidance and control, and between freedom and responsibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional example (“if the parents allows… it will…”) and a concession in the conclusion. However, control is uneven, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, verb forms, and articles sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. For example, “the individuals who wants to limit” has an agreement problem and does not form a complete sentence; “if the parents allows” also has subject–verb disagreement, while “they are not enough mature” uses an incorrect construction. The final sentence beginning “Although” is not joined grammatically to the clause with “while.” Practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause, then check agreement and clause connections. This will make your varied structures more reliable.
