Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Young generation will become selfish if they get the chance of taking their day to day decisions like choosing their own cloths, foods or leisure sessions which is the thought of some people. Whereas other community thoughts that making choice by their own will help them to develop their decision making sense. I would argue that children will become more confident when they will get the opportunity to decide their own decision.

Some individuals believe that while the young people are getting the choice to established their own decisions in the every single day life matters like playing, choosing foods or which TV show they want to watch in their leisure time or which kind of story books they prefer to study will teach them to think about only their personal wishes which will be harmful for the community. As a result they will not be able to make significant contribution to the society because they will not consider anyone else choice which can be a better choice for the overall people of the society.

Many people believe that the own decision making system make children confident in their future life where they have to grow up and have to face various difficulties in the growth process as the modern technological world is continiously developing. So cope up with the future world young stars need to be flexible in their own choice like as what they want to study in their future life and how they want to use their knowledge in the growth of the modern world. For example, If a child choose the profession of doctor from her childhood then she will be able to a good doctor in future and can serve the society a healty life.

In conclusion, where some people argue that the child will become self defended if they got chance of taking their own decision, there i strongly believe that the child will be more eligible and confident if they get the opportunity of establishing their self minded decisions and will become valuable asset for the modern world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both views and gives a clear preference for children making choices, especially in the opening and conclusion. The discussion of the concern that children may become self-centred is relevant, and you explain that this could limit their contribution to society. The opposing view is developed somewhat further through the idea that decision-making builds confidence and prepares children for adult life, with the doctor example providing support. However, some claims remain broad: the link between choosing a profession in childhood and becoming a good doctor is not fully explained, and the consequences of everyday choices could be illustrated more specifically. Develop both sides with balanced, concrete reasoning to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your position. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “As a result,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” to signal relationships between ideas. At times, however, cohesion feels mechanical, and some references are unclear. For instance, “where some people argue” in the conclusion does not clearly connect the two positions, while “which can be a better choice” has an uncertain reference. Improve progression by linking each example directly to the claim it supports and using clearer references rather than relying mainly on formulaic transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “decision making,” “significant contribution,” “flexible,” and “valuable asset,” which helps express the topic and your position. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling sometimes make the expression awkward, as in “leisure sessions,” “self defended,” and “establishing their self minded decisions.” Spelling errors such as “cloths,” “continiously,” and “healty” also reduce precision. Aim for natural combinations and check word forms and spelling carefully; for example, use “make their own decisions” rather than “establish their own decisions.” This would make your adequate range more precise and fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response includes both simple statements and attempts at complex sentences, particularly when explaining consequences and giving examples. Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “the own decision making system make children confident” needs a plural or singular subject–verb match and a more natural article pattern; “If a child choose” also has incorrect agreement. The sentence beginning “So cope up with the future world” is not grammatically complete as written. Practise accurate conditional sentences and clauses, and review subject–verb agreement and article use. More consistently controlled complex sentences would strengthen the range already attempted.
