Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is belived by many people that giving childern too much leverage is a mistake which will lead us to a selfish society, whereas others believe that leaving children to make their own choices is important. I personally believe, it is important that parents should let children make their own choices, because it helps in overall development of a child.

Yes it is possible that leaving children on their own can be devastating for the society if they only care about themselves. Selfish people only think and care about their own convience, no one else matters for them, and with time they will start to get frustrated if someone tries to guide them. In addition, it will built a society where individuals will help each other and slowly with time humanity can vanish from everyone.

However, letting children choose what to eat, wear, play, watch can also lead towars a well developed and intelligent society. With proper guidence from the parents, children can develop themselves in a way where they will know what is best for them as well as for the people in the surroundings. Furthermore, it will make easy for children to learn differentiation about the right or wrong and good or bad. This will be a great contribution for a child's personal development.

To sum up everything, I strongly believe that the advantages of letting children make their own choices outweigh the disadvantages. It's totally depend on the parenting, that how a child is goona be. With the right guidance from the parents and teachers, a children can make the future bright for the whole community.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and make your own position clear: you argue that children should make choices when parents provide guidance. The discussion of possible selfishness is relevant, and the second body paragraph explains benefits such as learning to distinguish right from wrong. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The negative view is asserted through claims that selfishness could make “humanity…vanish,” but this consequence is not explained or supported with an example. The benefits are also described generally rather than illustrated with a specific everyday decision. To strengthen the response, explain how unrestricted choice might affect consideration for others, then show how guided choices can build responsibility, using a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion that restates your opinion. Linking expressions such as “whereas,” “However,” “Furthermore,” and “To sum up” help readers follow the main progression, and the contrast between the two positions is easy to identify. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some features of stronger progression. At times, however, connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “In addition” introduces a consequence that conflicts with the preceding claim about selfishness, and “with time” is repeated without clarifying the sequence. Use more precise links between cause and result, and ensure each supporting sentence clearly develops the paragraph’s main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “selfish society,” “personal development,” “guidance,” and “community.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “overall development” and “contribution,” although some choices are inaccurate or unnatural. Examples include “too much leverage” for parental freedom, “convience” for “convenience,” and “differentiation about the right or wrong,” which makes the intended meaning less clear. Spelling errors such as “belived,” “childern,” and “guiedance” are noticeable. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning natural word partnerships; for instance, children can “distinguish right from wrong” and “develop a sense of responsibility.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast in the opening sentence and clauses beginning with “if” and “where.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make sentences difficult to interpret. For example, “it will built a society where individuals will help each other” has an incorrect verb form and contradicts the point about selfishness; “It's totally depend on the parenting” also has an incorrect verb construction. There are further problems with agreement and sentence structure in “a children can make the future bright” and “that how a child is goona be.” Practise accurate verb patterns, subject–verb agreement, and clause formation, then proofread each sentence for a complete, logical structure.
