Student answer (Band 5.0)
In many parts of the world, there is a considerable debate whether the full tim education become mandatory for children and youngsters until they reach the age of 18. I largely agree this statement, a significant number of pupils left their studies and worked as a child labour and aslo did not afford basic necessities.
On the one hand, basic need is undeniabley a fumdamental human right. Many children left their education for several reasons. One major reason is that there parents cannot afford their education, so that pupils left their studies behind and worked as a labour. Moreover, it also reduce a child's overall development and they would not learn about interpersonal skills. As a result, sometimes they become rebelious and having a rude behaviour to their parents. Additionally, they lose interest to fulfill to achieve their ambitions.
On the other hand, many people argued that education become mandatory until the children reach the age of 18. It helps them to build their career effeciently and offers a substantial range of job opportunities in the long run. For example, many adolcents learn interpersonal skills, which also helps them to deal real life issues. For example, UK provides free education to their children until the age 18, so they can perform significantly in their lives.
However, I strongly agree that statement, because child labour is increasingly popoular around the world. For example, Bangladeshi children faced extremely financial pressure, so they left their studied to afford basic human needs. Due to these reasons, I believe that free education would be provide by the authorities whenever the child become adult.
In conclusion, although there is wider debate whether eduaction is free or not. I strongly agree that it is postive development. Hence, children learn better work time managment habits and interpersonal skills, which helps them to take one step closer towards their dreams.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is generally clear: you say you “largely agree” and later “strongly agree,” and you give relevant reasons involving child labour, access to education, career prospects and interpersonal skills. The examples about the UK and Bangladesh also help connect the discussion to real contexts. However, the response only partly addresses the precise proposal: it does not clearly explain why education should be compulsory specifically until 18, or consider possible limits and alternatives. Some points are asserted rather than developed—for instance, the link between leaving school and becoming “rebellious” is not explained, and the final claim about authorities providing free education “whenever the child become adult” is unclear. Develop fewer reasons with clearer explanation and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” make the broad structure visible. However, progression within and between paragraphs is uneven. The first body paragraph focuses on poverty and the effects of leaving school, while the next presents benefits of education, but the relationship between these points and the final argument is not always clear. “For example” is repeated in the same paragraph, and the conclusion introduces work-time management without developing it earlier. Some references, such as “this statement” and “these reasons,” do not clearly identify the idea being referred to. Use topic sentences and link each supporting point explicitly to your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “mandatory,” “interpersonal skills,” “job opportunities,” “financial pressure” and “child labour,” which helps communicate the main subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts of the response less clear or natural. Examples include “full tim education,” “worked as a labour,” “fulfill to achieve their ambitions” and “free education would be provide.” There are also repeated general terms such as “children,” “education” and “basic needs,” with few precise alternatives. Aim to learn common academic collocations and check spelling carefully; more accurate phrasing would make your ideas easier to follow and give your vocabulary greater flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “because,” “so” and “although,” and this allows you to express reasons and contrasts. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “I largely agree this statement” is missing a grammatical link, while “it also reduce” has a subject–verb agreement error. In “many children left their education,” the tense does not fit the general claim, and “education would be provide” has an incorrect verb form. Articles, plurals and sentence construction also need attention. Practise building accurate sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking verb forms and agreement in each clause.
