Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people often disagree about young people education age. Some people think younger people should study full time until the age of 18. Some believes full time education shouldn't be mandatory for children. This essay will discuss both view point. I agree with the thought of full time education being mandatory until the age of 18 but limiting children to just bookish knowledge is where I disagree.
Some people argue that all children in the age of 18 should continue their studies full time. Education is the most important factor in the development of human being. It teaches children how to act in all situations of life. For example, the things we learn in the early ages become the part of our memory throughout our lives. Human minds are built in a way that they can grasp more knowledge in young ages than older. Therefore, the debate on making education mandatory till the age of 18 is understandable.
In the contrary, some people often look towards not making the education mandatory. Children can then invest their time more on creative things that will help them to build more skills. Educational institutions can organize events that helps younger people to learn practical aspects rather than making them focus on bookish knowledgee. In this way, children can polish themselves in early ages that will help them to get better jobs in future. As employer are more inclined towards people who have more skills and are confident enough to tackle difficult situations as comapred to them who are book worms.
Following the above views, In my opinion mandatory of education should just not only mean to deliver bookish knowledge into children's mind. There should be a balance of academic course and other co-circular activites.
In conclusion, both arguable points are reasonable. Children might get distracted in their study time if they got to know about play activites on the same hand for some people these extra activites motivates them to study more often. I strongly believe a balance of both should be accepted by educational institution and parents so they can help their children on how to manage both aspects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view: you support making education compulsory until 18, while arguing that it should include more than academic study. You also discuss reasons for both compulsory education and practical or creative learning, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the position is not consistently developed: the opening says you will discuss both viewpoints, and the conclusion says both arguments are reasonable, which makes the extent of your agreement less definite. Several claims, such as young people learning more easily or employers preferring skilled applicants, are asserted rather than explained with a specific example. State your degree of agreement consistently and develop each main reason with a concrete illustration.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for contrasting views, your own position, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad discussion. However, progression within and between ideas is sometimes unclear or repetitive. For example, the final paragraph introduces distraction and motivation without clearly connecting these points to the earlier argument for a balanced curriculum. Linking phrases such as “In the contrary” and “Following the above views” are awkward or do not show the precise relationship between ideas. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example directly to its claim, and make the conclusion restate your position rather than reopening the debate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “mandatory,” “practical aspects,” “creative things,” and “balance,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. Phrases such as “young people education age,” “invest their time more on creative things,” and “bookish knowledge” sound unnatural or imprecise in this context. There are also spelling errors, including “knowledgee,” “comapred,” and “activites.” Build a more precise range for discussing education and employment, and check spelling and collocations during revision. More natural phrasing would make your arguments clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including explanations with “For example” and a conditional idea beginning “Children can then…”. Meaning is usually recoverable, but errors occur often enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to follow. Examples include “Some believes” instead of “Some believe,” “events that helps” instead of “events that help,” and “As employer are” instead of “As employers are.” The sentence beginning “Children might get distracted” also has an unclear structure and an incomplete comparison. Review subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, then simplify sentences whose relationships between clauses are unclear.
