Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you completely agree that education should continue until 18, and you give relevant reasons, including future employment, confidence and learning social behaviour. However, the response only partly develops the task. The discussion mostly explains why education is valuable, rather than showing why it should be compulsory specifically until age 18 or considering what might happen if young people leave school earlier. The examples about artificial intelligence and respecting elders are mentioned but not explained enough to support the argument. To strengthen the response, explain how education up to 18 benefits young people, and develop each reason with a specific example or consequence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Moreover” and “in the conclusion” help signal the stages of your argument. However, progression is limited because several points repeat: education is described as important, as teaching manners and as building confidence in both the body and conclusion. Some links are also unclear, particularly the move from financial stability to artificial intelligence. Organise each paragraph around one distinct reason, explain that reason, and connect the example directly to it. Avoid repeating the same claim in the conclusion; instead, summarise the main reasons and reaffirm your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary, including “financially stable,” “confidence,” “technology” and “basic education,” so the reader can follow your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. For example, “a way of success” is not a natural expression, and “a different jobs” does not fit grammatically or idiomatically. Repeated use of “important,” “education” and “manners” also limits precision. Build a wider set of topic-specific expressions and check how words combine in English. More precise choices would help you explain the benefits of compulsory education and make your examples clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate your main position using mostly simple sentences and make some attempts to connect ideas with “because” and “so.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and plurals. Examples include “Education become necessary,” “Educated people has,” and “it tell us”; these should use correctly formed verbs that agree with their subjects. There are also faulty constructions such as “unless they are become 18 years old.” Practise accurate present-tense forms and subject–verb agreement, then add controlled complex sentences to explain causes and results. Check punctuation and capitalisation, especially at the start of sentences.
