Student answer (Band 7.0)
Dear Sir/Madam,
I hope you are doing well.
I am writing to you in connection with recent organization done by my team at your hotel.
Last week, I visited at Sun Villa farms on 24 June 2026. It was a reception party of famous couple as a blogger. Decoration and catering handled by my team. I would like to share with you that, I kept a review book on entrance and everyone gives five star for service.
In addition, I was so happy to see the lightening in hall. It was really sparkling, and feeling like I was in haven.
Furthermore, as I am nature loving person. I noticed the garden area. It was also maintained well with seasonal flowers.
Apart from this, I would like to suggest that restrooms are not cleaned well. There were some participants those were talking about it so I really found it helpful to improve the service. It would be helpful to avoid similar issues in the future.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Rajvir

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points: providing event details, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting improvements. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. The event details are clear, and the feedback regarding the restrooms is specific. However, the development of ideas is somewhat brief. For instance, the description of the event could have been slightly more professional in its phrasing (e.g., 'famous couple as a blogger' is slightly unclear). Overall, the response fulfills the requirements of the task effectively and maintains a consistent focus throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear structure. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the prompt, which aids readability. The use of cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Furthermore', and 'Apart from this' helps to transition between ideas effectively. While the flow is generally good, some sentences feel slightly disjointed due to minor grammatical issues. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different sections of the letter. The progression of ideas is logical, moving from the event description to positive feedback and finally to constructive criticism.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their message clearly. There are some attempts at more descriptive language, such as 'sparkling' and 'nature loving person'. However, there are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'recent organization done' instead of 'the recent event organized' and 'feeling like I was in haven' (should be 'heaven'). The use of 'famous couple as a blogger' is also slightly unnatural. Expanding the range of vocabulary to include more precise professional terminology would help elevate the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'I visited at Sun Villa farms' (unnecessary preposition), 'everyone gives five star' (tense inconsistency and missing plural), and 'there were some participants those were talking' (awkward relative clause). Punctuation is generally functional, though some sentence boundaries are slightly unclear. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher band score. More attention to subject-verb agreement and preposition usage would improve accuracy.
