Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: providing details about the event, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting improvements. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, the description of the event is brief, and the suggestions for improvement are listed rather than fully explained. While the purpose of the letter is clear and the tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, the response would benefit from more detailed elaboration to fully satisfy the requirements of a higher band. The structure is functional, but the content remains quite basic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organised into a single block of text, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. While there is a logical flow from the introduction to the feedback and suggestions, the lack of paragraphing is a significant weakness. Cohesive devices are used sparingly and are sometimes mechanical (e.g., 'Moreover', 'overall'). To improve, you should use clear paragraph breaks to separate the introduction, the positive feedback, the suggestions, and the closing. This would help the reader navigate your ideas more effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic descriptors such as 'big enough', 'amazing', and 'good'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'restroom era' (likely meaning 'area') and 'well maintainence' (should be 'maintenance'). While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little evidence of less common or more sophisticated lexical items that would demonstrate a higher level of proficiency.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The letter contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'there has been a event of birthday party', 'facilities hotel had is best', and 'may helps in this situation'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and spacing. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader and indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement.
