Student answer (Band 7.5)
Dear Sir/ Madam,
I hope this email finds you well.
I am writing to provide a feedback on the event organsied at the Sheraton Hotel on July 10th. The over all experience was excellent and we really appreciate for the effort taken by the hotel staff to make our event a success.
TCS organised an Hiring event for the new graduates and experienced professionals. The event was held in the conference hall on the 7th floor of the building. It was well organsied and conducted by the our team as well as the hotel staff. To make the event engaging, we organized mock interviews and interactive discussion sessions with the candidates. Furthermore, the location was very thoughfully chosen so that every one could easily commute to the venue.
Moreover, I particularly wants to call out on the event staff who gave excellent customer service and support to our attendees and our company staff through out the event. Additionally, the audio- visual setup and the overall logistics of the event was well organized and ensured smooth experience for all.
However, I would like to offer a few suggestions for improvement. Firstly, the washroom facilities need extra cleanliness and maintainance for beter experience for the guests. And secondly, the food which was served was not up to the mark so please make sure that the food which you serve is fresh and prepared on the same day to avoid customer complaints.
I hope that my feedback would be considered.
Yours faithfully,
Sankalp Diwate.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 8.5
The response successfully addresses all three bullet points: providing details about the hiring event, expressing appreciation for the staff, and suggesting improvements regarding cleanliness and catering. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented, covering the requirements of the task fully. The purpose of the letter is clear from the outset, and the structure follows a logical flow suitable for a formal business communication. No parts of the prompt were omitted, and the content is well-developed for the context of a feedback letter.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 8.0
The letter is well-organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for each point, and a formal closing. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate distinct ideas. The use of cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', 'Additionally', and 'However' helps to guide the reader through the text. While some transitions are standard, they are used accurately to maintain a logical progression of ideas. The referencing is clear throughout, and the overall arrangement of the letter is coherent, making it easy to follow the writer's intent from start to finish.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
The vocabulary is generally appropriate for the task, with terms like 'hiring event', 'logistics', and 'audio-visual setup' used correctly. There are some minor spelling errors, such as 'organsied' (organized), 'maintainance' (maintenance), and 'beter' (better). While the range is sufficient to convey the message clearly, it lacks a high degree of sophistication or variety in word choice. However, the errors do not impede communication, and the writer demonstrates a functional command of business-related terminology suitable for this type of correspondence.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'provide a feedback' (provide feedback), 'the our team' (our team), 'I particularly wants' (I particularly want), and 'the food which was served was' (the food served was). Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear, and the writer demonstrates control over basic sentence construction. Punctuation is generally accurate, and the errors are not frequent enough to cause significant difficulty for the reader. The use of complex sentences is attempted, though with occasional inaccuracies.
