Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: providing event details, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting improvements. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. The details provided are quite brief; for instance, the event description lacks specific context, and the suggestions for improvement are vague. To improve, you should expand on your points by providing more descriptive language and specific examples to ensure the letter is fully developed and meets the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into short paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, the progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical, and the transitions between sentences could be smoother. The overall flow is clear enough for the reader to understand the purpose of the letter, but the limited length prevents a more sophisticated use of cohesive devices or a more natural paragraph structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. Phrases like 'on point' are too informal for a business letter, and 'take them little and light' is unclear and unnatural. You rely on simple, repetitive language to convey your message. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more formal, topic-specific vocabulary related to event planning and professional correspondence, such as 'decorations', 'layout', or 'accommodations'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
There are several grammatical errors throughout the text. For example, 'which is held' should be 'which will be held' to reflect the future tense. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'my employer don't like', which should be 'my employer doesn't like'. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequent errors and the limited range of sentence structures prevent a higher score. Focus on mastering basic tense consistency and subject-verb agreement.
