Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: providing event details, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting improvements. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. The description of the event is a bit disjointed, and the suggestions for improvement are vague. To reach a higher band, ensure that your ideas are more fully extended with specific examples or clearer explanations. For instance, instead of just mentioning 'flower pots', you could explain how these would enhance the professional atmosphere of the meeting hall. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though some phrasing is slightly unnatural.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For example, the transition 'Meanwhile, there will be short break' lacks an article, and the connection between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. Some sentences feel like a list of points rather than a cohesive narrative. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and phrases (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition to this') to better connect your ideas and improve the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to complete the task, but there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors. For example, 'prepare a list of particular event' is not standard English, and 'fascination will be possible' is an unnatural way to express that the room would look more attractive. There are also minor errors in word formation, such as 'welcome' instead of 'welcoming'. While your meaning is generally clear, the vocabulary is somewhat basic and lacks the precision required for higher band scores. Focusing on learning common collocations will help you sound more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
Your writing contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'at balcony side'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'Exhibition must be showed'), and preposition errors (e.g., 'waiting your response'). While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Proofreading your work for these small but frequent errors would significantly improve your accuracy.
