Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to express our experience we had at you place in our recent Annual event, which was organised in your Ball Room 6.
That was our first event of all of us that we enjoyed a lot without any complications or any bad experience, in this event our Director was present, he also appreciated the organisers and the host for their wonderful support during the event, in this we were having 10 different presentations which required a strong internet connection along with the projector and speakers facility and some of the needs are so random but your staff work was magnificent they met all of our end moment requirements either its a small extra mic or speaker request or a change in sitting plan they guys are really quick.
There are also some areas in which improvement will be really acknowledged for our next event. For example, surig lunch time our members waied a long time for the food requests due to the shortage of staf present at that time a well arranged staff will be appreciated while serving lunch and second is our guest faces difficulty tracing the event room a proper sign boards and a differnt entrance for the events is also something need your intrest.
Yours faithfully,
Angelina Rehio

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: providing details about the event, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting areas for improvement. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited by the sentence structure. For instance, while you mention the event was an 'Annual event' in 'Ball Room 6', more specific details about the nature of the event could have been provided to fully develop the response. The suggestions for improvement are relevant and clearly stated, meeting the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a distinct purpose. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'For example' and 'second is', to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by run-on sentences and punctuation errors, such as the long second paragraph which contains several comma splices. Using more varied linking words and breaking up overly long sentences would improve the overall coherence and make the progression of ideas smoother and more professional.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'complications', 'magnificent', and 'acknowledged'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and spelling errors, such as 'you place' instead of 'your place', 'staf' instead of 'staff', and 'waied' instead of 'waited'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do prevent the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on more precise collocations and ensure careful proofreading of common business-related vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'in this we were having 10 different presentations' and 'either its a small extra mic'. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, punctuation (specifically comma splices), and article usage. While the meaning remains clear throughout, the high frequency of these errors limits the score. Increasing your control over sentence boundaries and verb tenses will help elevate your grammatical accuracy.
