Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: providing event details, mentioning positive aspects, and suggesting improvements. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. The description of the event is slightly confusing, as the phrasing 'about our hotel who is the best employee of the month' is unclear. While the positive aspects (cleanliness and staff) and suggestions (water, check-in, and staff hours) are relevant, the tone is occasionally informal and the logic behind the employee hour suggestion is not clearly linked to the hotel management context. To improve, ensure that the purpose of the event and the suggestions are explained with greater clarity and professional focus.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Additionally', and 'Therefore'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Therefore, i need to talk about some big improvements that to in providing...'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the first paragraph where the connection between the event and the hotel is muddled. Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider variety of linking words would enhance the overall coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several spelling errors, such as 'cleaning ness' (cleanliness), 'increadable' (incredible), 'nessesary' (necessary), 'coustmers' (customers), and 'consedration' (consideration). These errors are frequent and occasionally distract the reader. The word choice is often simplistic, such as 'big improvements' or 'too perfect'. To achieve a higher band, you should focus on accurate spelling and using more precise, professional vocabulary suitable for a formal letter to a manager, such as 'commendable' instead of 'truly amazing'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include inconsistent capitalization (e.g., 'i', 'george brown college'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing like 'our hotel who is the best employee'. Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation limits the score. To improve, pay closer attention to sentence construction, ensure proper capitalization, and proofread for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms.
