Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: providing event details, mentioning positive aspects, and suggesting improvements. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the 'compact' seating and 'lightning' (lighting) issues, these could be explained with more specific detail to better justify the director's dissatisfaction. The letter follows the required structure, and the purpose is clear throughout. To improve, ensure that your suggestions for improvement are more constructive and detailed, which would help in achieving a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific requirement of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'In addition', and 'Furthermore' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and some mechanical use of transitions. The referencing is generally clear, but the paragraphing could be more refined to ensure a smoother progression of ideas. The closing and opening are appropriate for a formal letter, though the sign-off 'Your faithfully' contains a minor grammatical error ('Yours faithfully').
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your message clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'hospitality', 'supervisors', and 'cusinies' (cuisines). However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'employes' (employees), 'cusinies' (cuisines), 'lightning' (lighting), and 'situtation' (situation). Additionally, some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'main hero of the event' or 'do improvement'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on accurate spelling and using more precise collocations suitable for a professional context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'My self simran' (I am Simran), 'All employes were also stay' (All employees also stayed), and 'give me warning' (gave me a warning). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing and capitalization. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity of your writing. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
