Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: providing details about the event, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting improvements. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the banquet hall and the staff, the descriptions are quite brief. To improve, try to expand on the impact of these elements—for instance, explaining how the banquet hall's layout specifically benefited your company's presentation. Overall, you have fulfilled the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the task. You use transition signals such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Lastly' to guide the reader through your points. However, some of the cohesive devices are used slightly awkwardly, such as 'On the other' at the end of the letter, which does not fit the context. Additionally, some sentences are disjointed, and the flow between ideas could be smoother with more varied linking words rather than relying on simple sequencing markers.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'hospitality', 'passionate', and 'annual meeting'. However, there are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'joyful function which organized' (should be 'function which was organized') and 'made a respect for you' (should be 'earned my respect'). Some phrasing is also unnatural, such as 'not much wait on food'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your word choices are contextually accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
Your writing shows a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include missing articles ('at last moment', 'one of you server'), incorrect verb forms ('which organized', 'I have not finalize'), and punctuation errors. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not prevent communication. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
