Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: providing details about the event, mentioning what you liked, and suggesting improvements. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the event was a birthday party, the description of the 'SUN SHINE company' organizing it is slightly confusing in context. The suggestions for improvement are clear, but the expression is repetitive and lacks professional tone. To improve, ensure that your ideas are fully expanded with more precise details, and maintain a consistent, formal tone appropriate for a letter to a hotel manager.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes mechanical. There is a lack of transition words to connect sentences smoothly, making the flow feel a bit disjointed. For instance, the transition between describing the event and mentioning the parking issue is abrupt. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') to create a more natural progression of ideas throughout the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite basic and contains several spelling errors, such as 'delliciuos', 'colour full', and 'sweats' (instead of 'sweets'). You also struggle with word choice, such as using 'palace' when you likely meant 'space'. While your meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision and the frequent spelling mistakes limit your score. To improve, try to use more sophisticated vocabulary related to events and hospitality, and pay closer attention to spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly with sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and article usage (e.g., 'that event was a birthday party which is arranged', 'children was also enjoyment', 'hotel was in the very congested area'). Many sentences are simple, and attempts at more complex structures often result in errors that can impede the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions.
