Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: providing event details, mentioning positive aspects, and suggesting improvements. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the opening salutation was inconsistent with the prompt's instruction. The ideas are relevant, such as the specific mention of dietary requirements and the garden maintenance issues. However, the development of these points is somewhat basic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on the impact of these experiences, for example, explaining how the dietary accommodations specifically benefited your team's overall satisfaction with the event.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'Moreover' to link your points. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing or punctuation errors, such as 'Moreover, iIn the left corner'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, covering topics like event management and hotel facilities. However, there are several spelling errors ('experiance', 'emploees', 'spiciesand', 'appeiciate', 'arrenge') and some word choice issues, such as 'wallpaper' (likely meaning decor or interior design) and 'keep your attention' (should be 'draw your attention'). These errors are noticeable, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To improve, focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and using more precise terminology for hotel features.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The letter uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('Your hotel washrooms was', 'There is a some plants') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. While you attempt complex structures, the frequency of these errors means that the control of grammar is not yet consistent. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring correct punctuation will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
