Student answer (Band 5.0)

Dear Sir/Madam,

I writing to provide a feedback about our AK company's suceess party event at your Taj hotel last week.

To begin with, the event was organized on 15th September last week. It was a success party dinner of our company and around 500 employees from different branch were there to celebrate our achievement.

I would like to mentioned one best thing about your hotel is the specious party hall. While booking this hotel, I was afraid about the part hall size because I felt it's going to be crowded with 500 people but to my surprise it was big enough and we easily managed everything with extra facilities of DJ in the same hall.

Unfortunatly, I would like to mention one are of improvement

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to address all parts of the task. While you mention the event details and what you liked, the letter is incomplete; it cuts off abruptly after introducing the 'area for improvement' section. Furthermore, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement. Because the final bullet point is not addressed and the length is insufficient, the task is not fully completed. To improve, ensure you develop each bullet point with sufficient detail and check that your letter reaches the required word count to avoid a penalty.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter uses basic paragraphing, but the abrupt ending severely impacts the overall coherence. There is some attempt at logical sequencing, such as using 'To begin with' to start the description, but the lack of a conclusion or a completed final paragraph makes the progression feel disjointed. Cohesive devices are limited and somewhat repetitive. To improve, ensure you use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') and ensure that every paragraph has a clear, completed purpose before moving to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision expected for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'suceess' instead of 'success', 'specious' instead of 'spacious', and 'Unfortunatly' instead of 'Unfortunately'. Additionally, 'one are of improvement' is grammatically incomplete. To improve, focus on accurate spelling and using more sophisticated collocations. For example, instead of saying 'one best thing', use 'a notable highlight'. Expanding your vocabulary will help you express your ideas more professionally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'I writing' (missing auxiliary verb 'am'), 'provide a feedback' (feedback is uncountable), 'different branch' (should be plural 'branches'), and 'I would like to mentioned' (incorrect verb form). The sentence structures are relatively simple, and the errors occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb tense usage, and ensuring that your sentences are complete. Proofreading your work for basic errors like missing articles or incorrect verb forms will significantly improve your score.
