Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: providing event details, mentioning positive aspects, and suggesting improvements. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum, which limits the development of ideas. The details provided are quite brief; for instance, the event description lacks specific context, and the suggestions for improvement are somewhat generic. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points by adding more descriptive detail and context, which would also help you meet the length requirement and demonstrate a more thorough engagement with the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'Finally'. However, the flow is somewhat mechanical, and the transitions between ideas could be smoother. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, and the overall progression of ideas is limited by the brevity of the text. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph develops a single, clear idea with supporting sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several spelling errors, such as 'atomsphere', 'conjested', 'comfertable', 'infrasturutre', and 'expereince', which occasionally distract the reader. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited to basic terms. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use more precise collocations and ensure accurate spelling. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives and professional terminology related to event management would significantly enhance your lexical profile.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('its found conjested'), incorrect preposition usage ('thank you about'), and punctuation errors (missing spaces after periods, inconsistent capitalisation of 'i'). These errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text. To improve, you should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with verb forms and sentence punctuation. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while maintaining accuracy will also help raise your score.
