Dear Sir/Madam

I hope you are doing great. I'm contacting you regarding to express my experience with recent event that was organized at Jacob's hotel. The event occurred very smoothly. It was about hotel's tour for visitors.

The tour inlcuded particular areas, that will be highlighted whenever a tourists visits the hotel for stays. In the event, the best thing was it inlcuded information about each hotel floors, that included crucial details for bookings. The swimming pool was nice and large, moreover it was clean too. I loved the hotel rooms as the all were resonating with bedrooms as people have in their homes.

I would like to bring attention towards the guest area, it gave feeling of boredom, as there is no TV, nor books neither magazines for guests. The management should look into this matter and should provide the resources to renovate guest area.

Thanks and regards

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points of the prompt: providing details about the event, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting improvements. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention the event was a 'hotel's tour for visitors', you could have provided more specific details about the scale or purpose of the event to better satisfy the task requirements. The suggestions for improvement are clear, but the overall response remains quite brief in its elaboration, which keeps it at a mid-level band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'moreover' and 'in the event' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the progression of ideas feels slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the swimming pool and the hotel rooms. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your referencing (e.g., 'it', 'this') is always precise to improve the overall cohesion of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'renovate' and 'crucial details'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'resonating with bedrooms' and 'gave feeling of boredom'. Additionally, there are minor spelling errors like 'inlcuded' (included) and 'a tourists' (a tourist). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your word choices sound natural in a professional context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'regarding to express', 'whenever a tourists visits', and 'nor books neither magazines'. These errors, while not impeding communication, occur frequently enough to impact the overall accuracy of your writing. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, the correct use of prepositions, and the structure of correlative conjunctions like 'neither/nor'.
