Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir / Madam,
The purpose of my writing today is to share few feedbacks based on our last event from a company called Backstreet Concrete which we faced different experiences at your hotel.
To begin with, last weekend our company conducted a party with our 50 employees for our 25th year completion. On that event we had done various activities on top of that had a lunch together.
Moving on to decoration and food quality from your side was really unforgettable. Considering the quality and organization of food and it's counter was really convenience, as we discussed about the dishes and selected theme for decoration was fulfill all our expectations.
However, hotel needs to draw more focus on few important things. To extent it, when we called management staff for cleaning some from floor they refused to do that task moreover our employees felt that staff had been overlooked for maintaining cleaning in some areas especially near to food counter therefore I personally suggest to improve the management and train the staff to build strong customer relationship. As a result, customers probably show less interest for revisit.
I hope you consider these suggestions for your improvement. Looking forward to hear back from you.
Sincerely,
Yash Kacha

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: providing details about the event, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting areas for improvement. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention the event was for the '25th year completion', more specific details about the nature of the event would have strengthened the response. Additionally, the suggestions for improvement are clear, but the explanation regarding staff behavior could be more concise to improve flow. Overall, you have successfully fulfilled the requirements of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moving on to', and 'However' to transition between ideas. However, some of these transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'some from floor', which makes the sentence structure awkward. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the relationships between sentences are more fluid and natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'unforgettable', 'expectations', and 'customer relationship'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'share few feedbacks' (feedback is uncountable), '25th year completion' (should be '25th anniversary'), and 'it's counter was really convenience' (should be 'convenient'). These errors do not prevent the message from being understood, but they do indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with articles ('the decoration'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence construction ('when we called management staff for cleaning some from floor they refused to do that task'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization and the correct use of prepositions, as these small errors currently limit your score in this criterion.
