Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter in order to convey my regards for the annual meeting which was hosted on Aug 22nd 2026, where our CEOs and the executives has came with their departments employees.
The staff of hotel has done great job at the event from decoration to the dinner, everything was so perfect and aligned as per our schedule which was fantastic and has created a well framed image in our guest list of itinary for the meetings.
Few things which can be offered more flexibily which are variety of food as you have limited options on the menu and the space so that it can accomodate more number of people.
I am very Thankful for the management and looking back to hear from you soon about any upcoming promotions which will be helpful and support through which we can collab.
Sincerely Yours

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: providing details about the event, mentioning positive aspects, and suggesting improvements. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the details about the event are quite brief, and the suggestions for improvement could be more specific to help the manager understand exactly what needs to change. To improve, try to elaborate slightly more on the 'why' behind your suggestions to provide a more comprehensive response while maintaining the professional tone.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter follows a logical structure with a clear opening and closing. You have used paragraphing to separate your ideas, which helps the reader follow your points. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. Phrases like 'Few things which can be offered' feel a bit abrupt. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider range of linking words and transition phrases to connect your sentences more fluidly, such as 'Furthermore,' 'In addition to this,' or 'Regarding the areas for improvement.'
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some relevant business-related terms like 'executives,' 'departments,' and 'management.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'convey my regards' (which is usually used for greetings rather than feedback) and 'looking back to hear from you' (which should be 'looking forward to hearing from you'). Expanding your range of collocations and ensuring words are used in their correct context will help improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('executives has came' should be 'executives came') and article usage ('The staff of hotel' should be 'The hotel staff'). Additionally, some sentence constructions are slightly awkward, such as 'the space so that it can accomodate more number of people.' Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and preposition usage would significantly enhance the accuracy of your writing.
