Dear Sir,
I hope you are doing well. As an employee of the company, I am writing this letter to give you a feedback. As you know, we recently organized an event at your hotel. It was about some new technologies which was invented in our company. In this event, we invited our business partners, friends and some other company's employees. Moreover, It was a very important event for us and we made it.
About your hotel, It was an amazing experience and also was a great decision to choose your place as a venue. We liked your hotel's interior, services which was provided by your staff as well as food. Your staffs were very friendly and were willing to do their job. They were very organized and were talking with our members very politely. However, It was my decision to choose the venue, my boss appreciated it. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: providing details about the event, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting areas for improvement. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the description of the event is quite vague, stating only that it was about 'new technologies' without providing specific context. To reach a higher band, ensure that your ideas are more fully extended and supported with specific details, which would make the letter more professional and informative for the manager.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Moreover' and 'However', to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical. For example, the transition between discussing the staff and mentioning the air conditioning is abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the phrase 'we made it', which does not clearly convey the success of the event. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between paragraphs would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, using terms like 'venue', 'organized', and 'politely'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'give you a feedback' is incorrect; it should be 'provide feedback'. Similarly, 'the air conditioning was worse' is not the standard way to express a complaint; 'inadequate' or 'poorly functioning' would be more precise. While your meaning is always clear, the vocabulary is somewhat basic and lacks the sophistication required for higher band scores.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully use some complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'technologies which was invented' (should be 'were invented') and 'services which was provided' (should be 'were provided'). Additionally, there are errors with pluralization, such as 'Your staffs' (staff is an uncountable noun). These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and noun countability will significantly improve your accuracy.
