Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: providing details about the event, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting areas for improvement. However, the development of these ideas is quite limited. For instance, the details about the event are vague, and the suggestions for improvement lack specific context or constructive depth. The tone is somewhat informal and inconsistent for a formal letter to a manager. To improve, you should expand on your points with more descriptive language and ensure the tone remains professional throughout the correspondence.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and sometimes mechanical or misused, such as 'so for feedback point of view' or 'On the flip side'. The progression of ideas is occasionally disjointed, particularly in the transition between the positive feedback and the complaints. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'however') and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to convey your message with precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'setting arrangment', 'participated in this event', and 'attracted many people' (when referring to lighting). You rely on simple adjectives like 'good' and 'amazing' rather than more sophisticated alternatives. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations and using a wider range of vocabulary that is appropriate for a formal business context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb tense consistency ('it's huge event happen'), subject-verb agreement ('staff also not polite'), and missing articles. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with irregular spacing and capitalization errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring verbs are correctly conjugated, and proofreading for punctuation and capitalization before finalizing your work.
