Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: providing event details, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting improvements. However, the development of these points is quite limited. For instance, the details about the event are vague, and the suggestions for improvement lack depth or professional context. The tone is somewhat informal and inconsistent for a business letter, which affects the overall task fulfillment. To improve, you should expand on your ideas with more specific information and adopt a more formal, professional tone throughout the correspondence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is basic and occasionally repetitive (e.g., 'so', 'moreover', 'additionally'). Some transitions feel forced or unnatural, such as the jump between the event details and the reasons for choosing the hotel. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the flow and logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally functional but limited. You rely on simple descriptors like 'good' and 'big', which do not demonstrate a wide range of language. There are also some awkward collocations and phrasing, such as 'organized in well mannered' and 'look at this matter'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise, academic, or professional vocabulary that is appropriate for a formal letter to a manager, and work on using collocations more accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('our all employees will be there'), article usage ('it should ne a big hall'), and punctuation (missing spaces after commas, inconsistent capitalization). The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation hinders the overall quality of the writing. Focusing on proofreading for basic errors and practicing more complex sentence structures will help improve your score.
