Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, reaching only 97 words. This significantly impacts the development of the required points. While you have addressed the three bullet points—providing event details, mentioning positive aspects, and suggesting improvements—the ideas are underdeveloped due to the brevity. To achieve a higher band, you must expand on your points by providing more context, such as the specific nature of the event or more detailed suggestions for improvement. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, but the lack of length prevents a full exploration of the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks clear paragraphing, which is essential for formal correspondence. The text is presented as a single block, making it difficult to follow the logical progression of ideas. While there is a basic attempt to sequence the points, the lack of cohesive devices (such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition') makes the writing feel disjointed. To improve, you should structure your letter into distinct paragraphs: an introduction, body paragraphs for each bullet point, and a formal closing. Using transition words will help guide the reader through your arguments more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely on basic descriptors like 'quick fast' (which is redundant) and 'neatness and tidiness'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'thogh', 'noot', and 'disrrupted', which detract from the professional tone. To improve, aim for more precise vocabulary; for example, instead of 'quick fast response', you could use 'prompt and efficient service'. Expanding your range of adjectives and adverbs will help you express your thoughts with greater clarity and sophistication, which is necessary for higher band scores.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('this letter meet well'), punctuation errors (missing full stops and improper comma usage), and awkward phrasing ('your kid gesture' instead of 'kind gesture'). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, as most sentences are simple or contain run-on errors. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring each sentence has a clear subject and verb, and pay closer attention to punctuation. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and verb tense consistency will also significantly improve your accuracy.
