Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points: providing details about the event, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting improvements. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. For instance, the description of the event is a bit repetitive, and the mention of 'three of our best costumer' is slightly unclear in context. To reach a higher band, ensure that the details provided are more precise and that the purpose of the letter is clearly linked to the feedback provided. Overall, the task requirements are met, and the reader is left with a clear understanding of your purpose.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into distinct paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Aside the services rendered' and 'Despite providing', to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel slightly abrupt. The use of referencing could be improved; for example, the connection between the event description and the hotel's facilities could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, the event details, the positive feedback, and the suggestions for improvement.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'management', 'conference', and 'accommodate'. However, there are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'huge gathering' (should be 'a large gathering'), 'costumer' (should be 'customer'), and 'out of style' (could be 'dated' or 'in need of refurbishment'). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring that technical terms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'Aside the services rendered' (should be 'Apart from the services'), 'whom will receive' (should be 'who will receive'), and 'Your hotel in particular provide' (subject-verb agreement error: 'provides'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation issues, such as missing commas and capitalization errors. While these errors are frequent, they rarely impede the overall meaning of your letter. Increasing your control over subject-verb agreement and relative clauses would significantly improve your score.
