You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir / Madam,

Student answer (Band 5.5)

Dear Sir,

Thanks for giving us wonderful management at our company party.

My name is Jayden from HI FI Corp. We had a small dinner party at your hotel last Friday.

I liked all the decorations and meals that were served to us. Moreover, the DJ at your hotel was very attractive because the performances given by them there were appreciated by every team member.

However, I would like to tell you that you should work on the seating capacity of your hotel because it felt very congested to us. Additionally, the toilets were very dirty; you have to work on it.

I am again thankful to you for providing us with very good service during our visit

Yours sincerely,

Jayden

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: providing event details, mentioning positive aspects, and suggesting improvements. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which limits the development of ideas. The details provided are quite brief; for instance, the description of the event and the suggestions for improvement lack the depth expected for a formal letter. To improve, you should expand on your points by providing more context or specific examples, such as describing the nature of the dinner party or explaining the impact of the seating issues on your guests. This would help you meet the length requirement and demonstrate better task development.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'However', and 'Additionally' to transition between ideas. While the progression is clear, the overall structure is quite simple. To achieve a higher band, you should aim for a more sophisticated use of linking words and ensure that your paragraphs are more balanced in length. The current structure is functional but lacks the variety and flow that would characterize a more advanced response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic. You use words like 'wonderful', 'attractive', and 'dirty' to convey your meaning. While these are understandable, they lack the precision and variety expected at higher levels. For example, describing a DJ as 'attractive' is likely a misuse of the word in this context; you probably meant 'engaging' or 'entertaining'. To improve, try to incorporate more specific, topic-related vocabulary, such as 'ambiance', 'accommodations', or 'professionalism', to demonstrate a wider range of lexical control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The letter contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are a few grammatical errors, such as 'Thanks for giving us wonderful management' (which is slightly unnatural) and 'you have to work on it' (which is a bit blunt for a formal letter). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the overall control of grammar is inconsistent. To improve, focus on using more varied sentence structures and ensure that your tone remains consistently formal throughout the letter. Proofreading for minor errors in phrasing will also help improve your accuracy.
