Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The letter fails to address the prompt effectively. The instructions ask you to write to a hotel manager about an event you helped organize at their hotel. However, your letter is confusingly addressed to 'Ram' and discusses holding an event at your own company's hall, which contradicts the task requirements. While you mention the event date and provide a suggestion for catering, the core purpose of the letter—communicating with the hotel manager about their venue—is missing. The content is largely irrelevant to the specific scenario provided in the instructions, leading to a significant failure in task fulfillment.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter lacks logical organization. There is no clear paragraph structure, and the progression of ideas is disjointed. You use very few cohesive devices, and those that are present, such as 'Although' and 'Also', are used incorrectly or do not help connect the ideas logically. The transition between discussing the company hall and suggesting improvements for the hotel is abrupt and confusing. The lack of a proper closing and the informal, inconsistent tone further detract from the overall coherence of the piece.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. You rely on basic words like 'big', 'good', and 'event' throughout the text. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'saficent space' (likely meaning 'sufficient') and 'held that' (which should be 'hold'). The phrasing is often unnatural, and the lack of variety prevents you from expressing your ideas with any degree of precision or sophistication. To improve, you need to expand your range of vocabulary and focus on using words that are appropriate for a formal business letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
There are frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. You struggle with verb tenses ('is organise', 'we are organize', 'we are not good'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'That time we held this event in our big hall which is good for that also decorating the hall properly I have some good ideas'. The lack of proper punctuation and capitalization makes the text difficult to follow. You need to focus on basic sentence construction and ensuring that your verb forms are consistent and accurate.
