Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing my experienced which I observed at the hotel during the event.
To begin with, our company have an annual event every year where our organization every worker come together to discuss achievements such as next year goals, and recognized employees for their hard work by providing them not only awards like employee of the year but bonuses.
Personally, i love the theme of your hotel as we already mentioned that we need theme according to company colours logo which is blue and you provide us. Moreover, hall was tidy as well as food was too delicious and fresh every team’s member like that.
Despite aforementioned merits such as neat and clean hall and housekeeping there are some areas which Needs to upgrade such as customer services as servers were slow to provide food on time due to food was cold and we have to ask them again to make it warm. Additionally, Toilets were not cleaned so it creates hygiene issue.
I believe that you will work on those areas. Look forward to your response.
Your faithfully

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: providing details about the event, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting areas for improvement. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the event details, the explanation is a bit repetitive and lacks clarity in sentence structure. To improve, ensure that each bullet point is developed with more precise detail and that the purpose of the letter is stated clearly in the opening sentence, rather than using phrases like 'I am writing my experienced which I observed'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'Additionally'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'Despite aforementioned merits... there are some areas which Needs to upgrade'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the transition between your positive feedback and your constructive criticism would make the letter more professional and easier to read.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'annual event', 'achievements', and 'housekeeping'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'I am writing my experienced which I observed' and 'every team’s member like that'. Some vocabulary is used incorrectly, such as 'recognized employees' instead of 'recognizing employees'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your word forms (nouns, verbs, adjectives) are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('our company have', 'Needs to upgrade'), incorrect verb tenses, and punctuation errors (e.g., 'Your faithfully'). The sentence 'due to food was cold' is grammatically incorrect and should be 'due to the fact that the food was cold'. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents a higher score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage.
