Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses all three bullet points: providing event details, mentioning positive aspects, and suggesting improvements. However, the development of these ideas is limited, and the response fails to meet the 150-word minimum requirement, which significantly impacts the score. The tone is somewhat informal and inconsistent for a formal letter to a manager. To improve, you should expand on the details of the event and provide more specific, professional justifications for your suggestions to ensure the letter is fully developed and meets the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter is organised into short paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is disjointed. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link sentences, making the text feel like a series of isolated statements. For example, the transition between the event description and the kitchen feedback is abrupt. To improve, use linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to connect your thoughts. Additionally, the paragraphing is basic and could be better structured to separate the different requirements of the task.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic words like 'big', 'good', and 'bad'. There are also several errors in word choice, such as 'rice families' (likely meaning 'rich') and 'deficault' (spelling error). The phrasing is often unnatural, such as 'it net and clean' instead of 'neat and clean'. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary appropriate for a formal business context and focus on accurate spelling and collocation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammar is frequently inaccurate, which occasionally impedes understanding. There are consistent errors with verb tenses ('I am help', 'I am like'), articles, and sentence structure ('it focus on client who is entry'). The sentence structures are simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. To improve, focus on basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of tenses. You should also practice constructing more complex sentences using relative clauses or conditional structures to demonstrate a wider range of grammatical control.
