Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: providing details about the event, mentioning positive aspects, and suggesting areas for improvement. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the details about the event are quite brief, and the suggestions for improvement are stated in general terms rather than providing specific examples of what went wrong. To reach a higher band, ensure that your ideas are more fully extended and supported with specific details, which would make the letter more convincing and professional.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on one of the required points. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'First of all', 'In addition to', and 'Regrettably', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or grammatically awkward, such as 'In addition to, there are some areas...'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence '...and were not coordinated', where the subject is missing. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer to their antecedents would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'apprise', 'commendable', and 'dissatisfaction'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'apprise you the halloween event' is incorrect (it should be 'apprise you of'), and 'cleanliness was not on the point' is not a standard idiomatic expression. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word choice and common English collocations to reach a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as missing prepositions ('apprise you the event'), incorrect article usage ('the halloween event'), and issues with sentence structure ('There was lack of communication... and were not coordinated'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from being considered error-free or highly controlled. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and basic sentence construction will help improve your accuracy.
