Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points: providing details about the event, mentioning positive aspects of the hotel, and suggesting an area for improvement. However, the content is somewhat underdeveloped. For instance, the details about the event are vague; you mention 'how much money spent' and 'decoration' but do not specify the nature of the event or the dates. To reach a higher band, ensure your ideas are more fully extended with specific details. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though the opening sentence is slightly confusing regarding your role in the company.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Although' and 'because' to link ideas. However, the progression between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are issues with referencing and flow. For example, the transition between the positive aspects of the hotel and the suggestion for improvement is a bit abrupt. Using a wider range of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would improve the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your main points clearly. You use some relevant terms such as 'spacious', 'hygienic', and 'mitigate'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'I delight that you give me responsibility' (should be 'I was delighted') and 'The all staff well mannered' (should be 'The staff were well-mannered'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit your score in this criterion. Expanding your range of collocations would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('The all staff well mannered'), article usage ('a event'), and tense consistency ('I see that the water is not hygenic which are use'). While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall accuracy. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will help you achieve a higher score.
