Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response successfully covers all the bullet points outlined in the prompt. You provide details about the event, mentioning the date, purpose (appreciation and bonus distribution), and schedule. You also mention what you particularly liked about the hotel, specifically highlighting the children's park with its games and slides. Furthermore, you suggest areas for improvement by proposing the addition of lights and background music at the guest entrance. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or expressed with minor confusion regarding timeframes, which places this response comfortably at a Band 6.0 level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement and follows a logical structure divided into appropriate paragraphs, starting with an introduction and moving through details, positive feedback, suggestions, and a sign-off. However, referencing and cohesive devices are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, transitions like 'Basically I am writting this letter' and 'Then it follow up by' feel unnatural and repetitive. Paragraphing is used adequately, but the flow between sentences could be smoother with more varied cohesive markers. Overall, the organization is clear enough to guide the reader without difficulty.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms like 'destination', 'appreciation', and 'betterment'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'yaer' instead of 'year', 'writting', 'heild', 'bounes', 'sharpe', 'childern', and 'Otherswise'. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they prevent the lexical score from reaching higher bands. To improve, focus on checking basic spelling and using more precise collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The text shows a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'We organise Thanksgiving day event every year for our employees and their families' and 'I think kids will love it too when the will see on the day of event'. There are several grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies ('choose' instead of 'chose', 'is heild' instead of 'was held'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing like 'when the will see'. Despite these errors, the meaning remains mostly clear, which aligns with the Band 5.5 descriptors.
