Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all three bullet points required in the prompt. You provided details about the event, mentioning it was a 'Robotic invention event' held last week at Hotel Hyatt. You also mentioned what you particularly liked about the hotel, such as the spacious floors, the event hosts (robots), and the catering services. Furthermore, you suggested areas for improvement, specifically recommending the use of artificial and traffic-guiding robots for the parking area. All parts of the task are adequately addressed, earning a solid Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter maintains a clear overall arrangement with appropriate opening and closing conventions. Paragraphing is used to separate different points, such as event details, positive aspects, and suggestions. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, with transitional phrases like 'Apart from this, I want would like to suggest you' feeling somewhat awkward. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'that means Robots', which disrupts the natural flow of ideas. Despite these issues, the progression of ideas is generally logical, supporting a Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You attempted some less common and topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'Robotic invention', 'automated mechanics', and 'improve-innovations'. However, there are notable word-choice and collocation errors throughout the response, such as saying 'pleasant hotel hotel', 'People were starting' (likely meant to be starving or starting), and 'valu able'. While communication is not severely impeded and the range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, these inaccuracies prevent the score from reaching a higher band. Therefore, a Band 5.5 is awarded.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response includes a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as relative clauses ('which are spacious to celebrate any moment') and conditional-like structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation slips, including comma splices ('I am writing this to thank you and your wonderful entire team, we have been organising...'), tense inconsistencies, and clunky phrasing ('I want would like to suggest you for some of the improve-innovations'). These errors require some effort from the reader to interpret, fitting the Band 5.0 descriptors well.
