Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir / madam,
Hope your are doing well. I am sharing my wonderful epxperience about your hotel which we booked for seminar last Saturday. This seminar was about motivating younger peoples for their future educational goals.
Overall, the experience was really joyful. The seminar held 50 peoples and the cheif guest invited for the motivational speech to encourgae students. Also, we kept this surprise from students that Founder of Google is coming to keep them motivated till the end.
While there are many aspects why we particularly booked this hotel. Firstly, it is located the near the airport. Secondly, the staff at the hotel was very welcoming and addrrssing each guest with offering juices and drinks upon entering.
Although, quiet a few challenges we faced during our seminar. The audio mic turned off during the chief guest speech, which make him and students uncomfortable. Another reason was AC was not working efficiently. By this I mean, the room temperature was warm during the entire seminar. I suggest, improving this areas will help our future events succesfull.
Again, we had a wonderfull day spending seminar at your hotel.
Warm Regards,
Oman.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers all three bullet points required in the prompt. You provided details about the event, mentioning that it was a seminar held last Saturday for 50 people with a surprise guest, the Founder of Google. You also mentioned what you liked about the hotel, highlighting its convenient location near the airport and the welcoming staff who offered drinks. Furthermore, you suggested areas for improvement, specifically pointing out the issues with the audio microphone and the inefficient air conditioning. All parts of the task are adequately addressed, earning a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter follows a logical paragraph structure, beginning with an appropriate salutation and introduction, followed by body paragraphs dedicated to details, positive aspects, and areas for improvement. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, such as the abrupt transition in 'While there are many aspects why we particularly booked this hotel' and the overuse of 'Also'. Referencing and logical connectors could be smoother to achieve a higher band. Overall, the arrangement is coherent enough to follow without difficulty, matching the Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'motivating younger peoples', 'cheif guest', and 'wonderfull'. However, there are notable spelling errors ('epxperience', 'peoples' instead of 'people', 'cheif', 'addrrssing', 'wonderfull') and slight awkwardness in word choice ('keep them motivated till the end'). Because these errors do not impede communication, the response fits the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range, leaning toward a solid Band 6.0 for successfully communicating your message.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'Although, quiet a few challenges we faced during our seminar.' and 'I suggest, improving this areas will help our future events succesfull.' There are several grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Hope your are doing well', 'AC was not working') and preposition/article errors ('located the near', 'improving this areas'). These errors occasionally cause minor reader strain, but they rarely impede overall communication, placing your grammar performance at a Band 5.5.
