Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir,
I hope you are doing great.I am writing this letter to share my reviews regarding the last week function at your hotel which was organised by Nima comapny workers, I was one of them.
The event itself was outstanding as it was about enivironmental factor event,it was attended by approximately [redacted phone] person which amazed me.Moreover, catering service, clean and tidy, sitting arrangement and well decorated each and every corner which was appreciated by everyone.
The most impressive thing that I loved about hotel is ample space and co-operative staff, our company has recieved lots of positive reviews about our choosen location for the event.Currently, our management working on the next planned event and all staff members and managers were thinking of conducting the further ceremony at your hotel.
Overall, there is nothing which actually needs a transformation to your place but I would like to suggest some improvements in the facility which can give the high image value at the Vanvi hotel such as adding more air conditioners will be great idea.
Thanks for taking time and consideration.
Best Regards,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the task requirements for a General Training letter. You provided clear details about the event, mentioning that it was an environmental factor event attended by 150-200 people. You also successfully highlighted what you particularly liked about the hotel, noting the ample space, cooperative staff, and excellent catering service, while also suggesting constructive areas for improvement, such as adding more air conditioners. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. Although there are minor grammatical slips throughout the text, the ideas are fully relevant and directly answer all bullet points outlined in the prompt, earning a solid Band 7.0 for task achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter maintains a clear logical organisation and overall progression from the opening purpose to the details, positive feedback, and suggestions. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different points, such as event details, hotel highlights, and areas for improvement. Cohesive devices are employed, although some linking phrases are slightly mechanical or repetitive, such as 'Moreover' and 'Overall'. Referencing is generally clear, but occasional awkward phrasing affects the smooth flow between sentences. Overall, the structure is easy to follow and meets the descriptors for Band 6.5.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'co-operative staff', 'ample space', and 'transformation'. However, there are several word choice, collocation, and spelling errors that prevent a higher score, such as 'last week function' instead of 'last week's function', 'Nima comapny' with a typo, 'enivironmental factor event', and 'choosen location'. Despite these lexical inaccuracies, communication is not impeded and the message remains clear. This reflects the criteria for Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating a reasonable attempt at structuring your sentences. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues throughout the text, including comma splices and missing articles, such as 'loved about hotel' instead of 'loved about the hotel', 'our management working' missing the auxiliary verb 'is', and 'give the high image value'. While these errors do not impede overall communication, their frequency prevents the attainment of a higher band. Control of grammar and punctuation corresponds to a Band 6.0.
