Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir,
I am writing to thank you for your excellent service provided by you hotel staff when We organised a hiring event last week.
It was a job fair event which was attended by around 60 new or unemployed people who need job. This event included several position of different professions so We booked the main hall from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. there was free lunch and coffee provided by company in the hotel.
I really appreciated the professional satff who have a good sense of communication skill. Furthermore, setting area was organised very well, and lighting effect was amazing. The speaker audio was very clear and used the modern type of sound bars. In the end, food was delicious.
Although all arrangements were excellent for us and our new employees, there was no ventilation system in the whole hall, so We had to face quite challenging time with having fresh air. In addition, these was a delay in serving lunch because some of our new employees left without eating.
Overall facility was good, and I hope these little inconvenience will be considered carefully.
Yours faithfully,
Sandeep

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response successfully covers all parts of the prompt by providing details about the event, mentioning what was particularly liked, and suggesting areas for improvement. You clearly described the job fair, noting that around 60 unemployed people attended and explaining the schedule and lunch arrangements. Furthermore, you highlighted positive aspects such as the professional staff, communication skills, and lighting effects, while constructively pointing out issues like the lack of a ventilation system and the lunch delay. The ideas are extended and supported well, establishing a clear purpose throughout the letter, which fully satisfies the requirements for this level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
Your letter demonstrates a clear logical organisation and progression from beginning to end. You use paragraphs appropriately to separate distinct parts of your message, starting with the purpose of the letter, moving into specific details and positive aspects, and then addressing the drawbacks before a polite closing. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Although', and 'In addition' are used to connect your ideas effectively, though referencing is occasionally slightly mechanical. Overall, the arrangement of information is coherent and easy to follow, guiding the reader smoothly through your feedback.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and descriptive phrases such as 'professional staff', 'lighting effect', and 'delicious'. However, there are some word-choice and word-form inaccuracies, such as using 'satff' instead of 'staff', 'setting area' instead of 'seating area', and 'these was a delay' where 'there' was intended. Additionally, phrases like 'quite challenging time with having fresh air' are slightly unnatural in collocation. These errors do not impede communication, but refining your precision and checking spelling will help elevate your lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating clauses with 'although' and relative pronouns. However, there are noticeable errors in grammar, articles, and capitalization throughout the text. For instance, there are issues with pronoun agreement and capitalization ('when We organised', 'so We booked', 'so We had to face'), missing articles ('service provided by you hotel staff'), and plurals ('who need job' instead of 'who need jobs' or 'who need a job'). Sentences like 'these little inconvenience' show a plural/singular mismatch. While these errors rarely impede communication, reducing them and increasing your frequency of error-free complex sentences will improve your control.
