Dear Sir / Madam,
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear sir,
I am very glad to had a event at your hotel, which was really helpfull for my company and was very fantastic.
The event was just a get together for everybody who is contributing in the firm. To know & help everybody with new skills, to make their future bright. Recently, we got new members in company and we just make some steps to help them to create a platform to get easyness ahed.
All what I liked about your place is your hospitality, because you just had a wedding fuction and just after we had event. But how you manage all the theme of event was really giving us a vibe of exact what I wanted. I did not get any problem at all during the event.
Lastly, I have some suggestions for you to enhance some points in your team. It is just to add more members in your team and divide them in different crews as per their duties.
kind regards
Parasdeep

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your response addresses all parts of the prompt, successfully covering the details of the event, what you liked about the hotel, and suggesting areas for improvement. For instance, you explained that the event was a get-together for new members and staff, noted your appreciation for the hospitality and quick turnaround after a wedding, and suggested adding more team members divided into crews. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. The bullet points regarding the event details and suggestions remain somewhat limited and under-developed, lacking specific elaboration such as the exact number of attendees or concrete examples of how the service could be restructured. To move towards a higher band, you would need to extend and support your ideas with greater depth and fully developed explanations across all required bullet points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your letter demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph-by-paragraph structure that addresses the prompt's requirements logically. You use appropriate paragraphing to separate the introduction, event details, positive aspects, and suggestions. Cohesive devices are present, such as 'Lastly' to introduce your final point, but referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, expressions like 'All what I liked' and the transition between sentences in the second paragraph can feel slightly disconnected or awkward. To reach a higher level of cohesion, you could use a wider and more flexible variety of cohesive devices and ensure smoother progression between ideas without repetitive or mechanical linking.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating your message with terms like 'hospitality', 'get together', and 'enhance'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that reflect a limited and minimally adequate range. Examples include 'helpfull' instead of helpful, 'fuction' instead of function, 'easyness' instead of ease, and 'ahed' instead of ahead. Furthermore, phrases like 'had a event' and 'manage all the theme' lack natural collocation. To achieve a higher band, you need to use a wider range of less common vocabulary accurately, demonstrate better control over word formation and spelling, and improve collocation to ensure natural expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as relative clauses ('which was really helpfull for my company') and concessive clauses. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause difficulty for the reader. For instance, you made tense and verb form errors such as 'I am very glad to had a event' instead of 'to have had an event' or 'to have held an event'. There are also article omissions and agreement issues, such as 'new members in company' instead of 'in the company', and punctuation slips like lowercase letters for beginnings of sentences and names. To improve, you should increase your range of error-free sentences and exercise tighter control over verb forms, articles, and basic sentence construction.
