Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address all three requested points: you identify a company gathering, give its date and time, praise the hotel’s view and buffet, and mention problems with room service. However, the event details are brief, and the improvement request is unclear: “many of the guest had problem facing that” does not explain what went wrong or what change you want. The letter also contains only 130 words, so it does not meet the 150-word minimum. Develop the event’s purpose or attendance, describe the room-service issue with a specific example, and state a clear request to the manager. This would make the response more complete and useful to its recipient.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The information follows a generally sensible order: you introduce the event, describe the arrangements, then comment on the hotel and suggest an improvement. This gives the reader a basic progression. However, most of the letter is presented in one dense block, and the transition from the hotel’s views to the room-service complaint is abrupt. The long opening sentence also joins several ideas without clear punctuation, while “kindly if you can work on that” is separated from the issue it refers to. Use distinct paragraphs for the event, positive feedback, and suggestion, and connect each point with clear sentence boundaries and references.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for a hotel event, including “buffet system,” “guests,” “outside view,” and “mountain views,” so the reader can understand the main topics. There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “fascinating” and “eye-catching.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, including “get together event,” “services … very cooperative,” and “rooms services.” Spelling errors such as “eveing” and “mountian,” along with inconsistent capitalization, reduce the overall control of vocabulary. Choose more precise hotel-related expressions, such as “company gathering,” “helpful staff,” and “room service,” and proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The letter communicates its main message, but grammatical control is uneven and the range of sentence structures is limited. Several sentences run together, particularly the opening, which combines the greeting, event description, and evaluation without appropriate sentence boundaries. There are also errors in verb agreement and number, as in “warm food were served” and “many of the guest had,” as well as missing articles and inconsistent capitalization of “I.” The request “kindly if you can work on that” is not formed as a complete, clear sentence. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas using controlled clauses and correct punctuation.
