Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You attempt to cover all three requested points: you describe the event as a company occasion with employees and special guests, praise the hotel’s building and garden, and suggest improvements to the hall. However, the event details are unclear because you say both that the company organised an event and that it “want to organise” one, without explaining what the event was or when it took place. Your positive comments are relevant but general, and the improvement suggestions are listed rather than explained in relation to guests’ needs. Develop each point with specific details—for example, the event’s purpose and how the hall’s seating or lighting affected it—and make the purpose of the letter clear from the start.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable sequence, using “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “finally” to move from event details to praise and suggestions. This gives the reader some sense of organisation, and the main topics can be identified. However, the progression is not always clear: the opening says the event was organised, while the next paragraph says the company wants to organise it. The second and third sections also repeat the focus on the hall, and several ideas run together without clear sentence boundaries. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for the event, what you appreciated, and improvements; connect each suggestion to a reason rather than relying mainly on sequencing words.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use basic vocabulary that is relevant to the situation, including “special guests,” “garden,” “flowers,” “sofa,” “lighting,” and “screen.” These words help communicate the general praise and the facilities you would like improved. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, such as “beautiful” and “more work about hotel hall.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “managment” and “hotle,” also reduce clarity and control. Aim for more precise hotel and event vocabulary, and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the hall as “poorly equipped” or request “additional seating” rather than listing items without context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most sentences use simple structures, and the reader can generally identify the intended meaning. There are attempts to link ideas, for example, “because your hotel management is good” and “when you better adjustment,” but control is weak. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently: “My company want” should be “My company wants,” while “I have also agree this” needs a correct verb form and construction. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, with sentences joined together, as in “good. They also invited.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer ones using clear clauses and correct verb forms.
