Dear Sir / Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to give feedback to your hotel services which I used for the AGM(Annual General Meeting) of our company.
It was the tenth AGM of our organisation which was organised to publish the verified annual report and to approve the dividend for the last fiscial year. We booked the venue for hundred people while only eighty people attended the event which was well handleded by your staffs.
Overall, all the services provided were of topnotch quality; I was specially impressed with the helpful employees. I remember the name Patric who was well behaved and was able to guide us through every technical aspect of the place which made us easy to present our reports.
Although everything was good for the event, the parking facility seems to be lacking as there were only few spots and due to the conjusted size we had difficulty in parking our car. If the hotel could provide the vault parking service, it would be an addition to the already great facility.
I hope to organize more event in your place and I would recommend your services to the people.
Thank you for your warm welcome and great services.
Best regards,
Subas Bhugai

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three requirements: it explains that the event was the company’s tenth AGM, identifies its purpose and attendance, praises the employees and technical support, and suggests improving parking. The positive, courteous tone is appropriate for writing to a hotel manager, and the recommendation at the end reinforces your overall satisfaction. The event details and praise are supported with relevant specifics, such as the booking for 100 people and the help provided by Patric. The improvement point is also clear, though the proposed “vault parking service” is not fully explained, so the manager may not know exactly what change you mean. Develop this suggestion more precisely and keep the event description focused on details useful to the hotel.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The information follows a clear progression: purpose of writing, event details, positive feedback, an area for improvement, and a courteous closing. Separate paragraphs help the reader distinguish these functions, and linking expressions such as “Overall” and “Although” make the shift from praise to criticism easy to follow. The letter is therefore logically organised throughout. Some connections could be more natural and precise, however. For example, “Although everything was good for the event” is a broad transition before the specific parking complaint, and “which made us easy to present our reports” leaves the reference to “which” slightly unclear. Use more direct links between the employee’s technical help and its effect, and between the parking problem and your proposed solution.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a formal feedback letter, including task-relevant terms such as “annual report,” “dividend,” “technical aspect,” and “parking facility.” The wording communicates both appreciation and a practical concern, and the reader can understand your meaning. However, some spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “fiscial,” “handleded,” “conjusted,” and “vault parking” are problematic, while “topnotch quality” and “your hotel services” sound less natural in this context. Aim for accurate, conventional collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise wording for the parking proposal would also make the suggestion clearer and give your vocabulary greater control without requiring unnecessarily complex language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The letter includes a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the relative clause in “which was organised to publish the verified annual report” and the conditional suggestion beginning “If the hotel could provide…”. Most sentences remain understandable, and errors rarely prevent the reader from following your message. Some grammatical problems are nevertheless present. In “the AGM… which was organised,” the relative clause is awkwardly attached and makes the event’s purpose less clear; “there were only few spots” needs an article, and “I hope to organize more event” needs a plural noun. There are also agreement and sentence-pattern issues in “your staffs” and “which made us easy to present.” Review articles, plurals, agreement, and clause construction to improve accuracy.
