Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir/ Madam,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my intrest about the recent event at a hotel we held. The event was about the awards given to the company best employees, and awarded as apprication. Mainly, our idea was to appricate the hard of our team and the efforts they put into work to bring organisation growth.
The one major thing I specially like about you hotel was the service and the facility provided by your staff was amazing. Moreover, the staff was very cooporative and friendly will deal with my company employes, all my team member were very stastfied with the service. But there was one major concern about the seating area as the banquet was to big and the seating was done very far from one another. So, some of the company employes and me myself have observed that thing. If we held any event next time at your hotel I would be pleased that if you can take care of this thing and try to make it more near and organised so it would be bit proper.
But overall, entire event organisation was super and would like to organize all company events at your hotel.
Thank you for having all of us at your hotel.
Regards,
Ram

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three required points: you explain that the event recognised employees for their contributions, praise the staff and facilities, and request better seating arrangements. The purpose is clear and the tone is appropriately polite, especially in “I would be pleased if you can take care of this” and the positive closing. The event details and the seating concern are relevant, but some ideas are not fully clear or developed—for example, “the hard of our team” does not explain precisely what the employees were being recognised for, and the improvement request could specify how the seating should be arranged. The response already covers the task well overall; clearer explanations and more specific supporting detail would make the ideas more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a recognisable progression: it introduces the event, describes what you liked, raises a concern, and ends on a positive note. Paragraphing helps distinguish these functions, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “But,” and “So” show an effort to connect ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the long middle paragraph combines praise, the seating problem, and the requested change, making the progression less smooth. References such as “that thing” are also vague, so the reader must infer that you mean the seating arrangement. Separate the positive feedback from the suggestion, use more precise references, and vary linking devices to make the organisation clearer and more flexible.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “awards,” “staff,” “banquet,” “seating area,” and “organise,” so the main message can be understood. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “company employees” and “organisation growth.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “intrest,” “apprication,” “cooporative,” and “stastfied” are difficult to process, while “the hard of our team” is not an appropriate expression. Some wording is also repetitive or imprecise, particularly “thing” and “super.” Build accuracy with common formal collocations and proofread spelling; this will make your vocabulary more reliable and easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional request beginning “If we held any event next time…” and sentences linked with “Moreover” and “But.” This shows some range, and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, several grammatical patterns are not controlled consistently. For example, “the service and the facility … was amazing” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “the staff was very … will deal with” does not form a correct clause. Articles and possessives are also sometimes inaccurate, as in “you hotel,” while “I would be pleased that if” uses an incorrect construction. Practise agreement, clause structure, and conditional request forms, then check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
