Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You include the main requested elements: you identify yourself as an event planner, refer to an awards ceremony, praise the hotel’s interior, cleanliness, food service and hospitality, and raise a concern about parking. However, the letter does not clearly describe an event you have already helped organise; instead, it asks about hall availability for an event next week. This changes the purpose of the task and leaves the event details limited. The improvement request is relevant, but the specific problem and desired solution could be stated more clearly. To strengthen the response, explain the event’s date, scale or arrangements, then make the parking suggestion explicit—for example, asking the hotel to provide a staff member to direct vehicles.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable format, with a greeting, separate paragraphs for the enquiry, praise and parking concern, and a closing. This gives the reader some organisation. However, the progression is not fully clear because the opening focuses on a future booking enquiry rather than the event you were asked to discuss, and the final paragraph combines the enquiry and the complaint without a clear transition. Linking phrases such as “Furthermore” and “In addition” help signal new points, but their use feels mechanical and does not always clarify how ideas relate. Organise the letter around the task’s sequence—event details, positive feedback, then a specific improvement—and use clearer references and transitions between these points.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “event planner,” “awards ceremony,” “interior arrangements,” “hospitality” and “parking area.” These choices make the general subject understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “great spirit of life,” “serving of food,” “crowdy” and “troubling concern.” Spelling errors, including “availablity,” “Futhermore” and “amzing,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural, precise expressions suited to a formal letter, such as “the company’s annual awards ceremony,” “food service,” “congested” and “ongoing concern.” Proofreading for spelling and choosing standard collocations would make your meaning easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence explaining the parking problem and its effect on the hotel’s reputation. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the message. For example, “I hope, you are doing good” has incorrect punctuation and structure, while “next week our company going to organise” is missing an auxiliary verb. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction in “area of the your hotel” and “there is no any person.” Use a more controlled range of sentences, checking subject–verb structure, articles and punctuation. For instance: “Our company is organising an awards ceremony next week” and “The parking area is often crowded, and no staff member is available to direct vehicles.”
