Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir / Madam,
I hope you are doing well. This is Sagar Director of Operations at Empire Entertainment INC. My company had a 10th anniversary party on last Wednesday and Thursday at your hotel. The party was amazing it was well organised. Your Receptionist were so welcoming in nature who guided us everything in good manner about the hotel.
The rooms which we selected properly cleaned and well maintained. The party hall area was very big morethan I expected. Moreover, not only the lighting system was good but also DJ services were perfect. Furthermore, the sitting facilities near the staging area was perfectly fine. I want very impressed when i saw i big round table in the centre where we all sit together and enjoyed our drinks.
The only problem I faced with you is your parking and swimming pool facilities, I parked my vehicle too far from my room and swimming pool was closed in early morning.
Thankyou.
Best Regards,
Sagar

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you identify the company anniversary event and its timing, describe positive features such as the reception staff, rooms, hall and DJ, and mention parking and pool access as concerns. The praise is supported with several concrete details, so the letter is relevant and informative. However, the event description could be clearer: “on last Wednesday and Thursday” does not explain whether this was a two-day event or when the party itself took place. The improvement points are also less fully developed than the positive comments; explain what change you would like, such as closer parking or earlier pool access. This would make the suggestions more purposeful and complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear overall progression: it introduces you and the event, describes what you appreciated, then turns to problems before closing. Paragraphing supports this structure, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “The only problem” help signal the relationships between ideas. The sequence of positive details is generally easy to follow. At times, however, the connectors feel repetitive, and some references are unclear—for example, “The rooms which we selected” and “The only problem I faced with you” make the reader pause to work out the intended meaning. Use simpler, more direct links and make each paragraph focus on one clear purpose to improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a hotel feedback letter, including “well maintained,” “lighting system,” “staging area,” and “parking facilities.” These details help communicate what you liked and what caused difficulty. There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “welcoming in nature,” but some choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “sitting facilities” and “morethan I expected” do not express the ideas naturally, while “I want very impressed” appears to be an incorrect word choice. Spelling and spacing also need attention, as in “Thankyou” and “morethan.” Choose conventional phrases such as “seating arrangements” and “I was very impressed” to make the message more precise and polished.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the paired construction “not only … but also,” and the main message remains understandable. However, some errors in sentence structure, tense, agreement, articles and punctuation reduce accuracy. For example, “The party was amazing it was well organised” joins two independent clauses without suitable punctuation, and “Your Receptionist were” has a subject–verb agreement error. “The rooms which we selected properly cleaned” is missing a verb, while “I want very impressed” has an incorrect verb pattern. Review sentence boundaries and ensure each clause has a complete, correctly formed verb. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentences easier to read.
