Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You cover the main points by identifying the event as a business meeting for about 50 employees and managers, describing the presentation and lunch, praising the cleanliness, seating, staff and food, and suggesting improvements to Wi-Fi and food service. However, the suggestions are brief and the letter does not explain the impact of the problems or offer much detail about the event. The response also contains 125 words, below the required minimum of 150, so the task is not fully developed. To strengthen the letter, add specific details—for example, how the slow connection affected the presentation and how long guests waited—and make each requested point more complete. The purpose is clear, but coverage remains partial.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The information follows a generally sensible order: you introduce the event, describe what you liked, and then raise concerns. This makes the letter understandable overall. However, the ideas are compressed into two long blocks, and transitions between details are limited; for instance, the move from the positive comments to “However” is clear, but the improvement points are then crowded together. Some connections between sentences are also unclear, such as “Its including presentation discussions and lunch.” Use separate paragraphs for the event and positive feedback, followed by a paragraph for improvements. Add linking phrases such as “In addition” or “One issue was…” and ensure each sentence clearly refers to the event or hotel.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for a hotel event, including “business meeting,” “presentation,” “participants,” “cleanliness,” and “comfortable seating.” These choices communicate the main message, and “particularly impressed” is an effective phrase for expressing appreciation. However, the range is limited, and several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less polished, including “arrangment,” “improvment,” “conaction,” and “waiter service.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “guest was wait long time for food.” Aim for accurate collocations and a more formal register: for example, describe “delays in serving lunch” rather than using an incomplete phrase. Proofreading spelling and choosing precise service-related vocabulary would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response mainly uses short, simple statements, with limited evidence of varied sentence structures. Some basic sentence patterns are understandable, but frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction make the writing less accurate. Examples include “the event that our company recently organise,” “Its including presentation discussions,” and “everyone enjoy it.” The request sentence “I whould like a suggest” also has an incorrect grammatical pattern. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check past-tense consistency when describing a completed event: for example, “Our company recently organised an event” and “Everyone enjoyed it.” More accurate control of these basic forms is the priority before attempting longer structures.
