Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to share my experience about a recently attended party at your hotel. This party was organised by LIC company, on 15th September 2026 on Sunday, and I am one of the empolyees in this company. Although, everything went well, still I wish you share my own thoughts with you regarding that celebration.
I really appreciate your arrangements and sitting plans for your guest. Everything was well maintained for privacy and enjoyment of party attendies. I particularly liked your way of hospitality for individual guests, it was amazing because it seems like cultural identity.
However, I noticed some areas of improvements that need to be considered to make parties and events more entertaining, is improve your sound system. It was not updated, especially, we felt that sound was not clear for everyone. Moreover, no doubt there is plenty of windows for proper ventilation, but during gathering there is still you need for installation of more fans for freshing ther air. Otherwise all of my collegues enjoyed and for all of us it was a mamorable event.
I hope this letter would help you and you will consider my review and act upon some improvements.
yours faithfully,
Harpreet Kaur

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you identify the event as a company party, describe the hotel’s hospitality and seating arrangements, and suggest improvements to the sound system and ventilation. The positive comments are relevant, and the specific problems make the feedback useful. However, some details are not fully clear or developed: the opening says you attended a party, while the task context is that you helped organise it, and the event description gives little information beyond the company and date. Your suggestions would be stronger if you explained their impact or offered a practical recommendation. The letter is appropriately directed to the manager and maintains a generally suitable purpose and tone.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall structure, moving from the event and general impression to what you liked, then to improvements and a closing. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and transitions such as “However” and “Moreover” signal a change or addition. Some connections are less smooth, though: “Although, everything went well, still…” combines contrasting signals awkwardly, and the long sentence beginning “However, I noticed…” makes the improvement points difficult to follow. References such as “that celebration” and “it” are understandable but could be more precise. Use shorter, clearly organised sentences for each suggestion and avoid stacking linking words to make the progression more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the event, appreciation and suggestions, including “hospitality,” “privacy,” “ventilation” and “installation.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, but several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems reduce precision: “sitting plans” is not the natural phrase for seating arrangements, “freshing ther air” is unclear, and “mamorable” and “collegues” are misspelled. “Cultural identity” does not clearly express what you mean about the hotel’s hospitality. These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main message, but they make parts of the letter less natural. Aim for accurate, conventional collocations and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, for example the contrast in “Although, everything went well…” and the explanation beginning “it was amazing because…”. The message remains understandable, but control is uneven: some complex sentences are awkwardly constructed, and there are errors in sentence boundaries, articles, agreement and verb patterns. For instance, “Although, everything went well, still I wish you share…” needs a clearer clause structure, while “there is still you need” is not a grammatical construction. The sentence about improvements also lacks a clear main structure. Practise building one complete clause for each idea, then add subordinate clauses only where they are controlled; review punctuation and agreement as well.
