Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the three requested points: you identify the event as an employee-promotion function, describe the hotel’s hall and staff positively, and suggest adding space and chairs. However, the event details are brief, and the improvement suggestion is not explained—for example, you could say whether the seating was insufficient for the number of attendees. The response is also 14 words below the required minimum, which limits how fully you can develop the points. The opening does not clearly state the event date or purpose in a complete sentence, and the closing is incomplete. Add specific details and develop each point to make the letter more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: the opening gives the purpose, followed by paragraphs about the event, what you liked, and possible improvements. This makes the main points easy to locate. Basic links such as “Lastly” help signal progression, and the paragraphing is appropriate. To make the organisation more fluent, connect related details more explicitly and avoid repeating the same idea: “The hotel staff was also very kind” and “All the staff member were very nice” convey nearly identical praise. A more complete opening and a proper closing would also make the letter feel more cohesive as a whole.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “promotion,” “employees,” “guests,” “main hall,” and “improvement,” so the reader can understand the topic. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy, such as “copmany,” “comapny,” “fablous,” “ambious,” and “increse.” Some expressions are also unnatural, including “enjoyed alot” and “supporting” where “supportive” would fit better. Aim for accurate, natural collocations such as “the event was held in the hotel’s main hall” and “the staff were helpful throughout the event.” Proofreading spelling and choosing more precise phrases would strengthen the letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response relies mainly on short, simple statements, with little variety in sentence structure. Several grammatical errors make parts awkward or incomplete. For example, “The purpose of writing this letter to give you feedback” is missing a main verb, and “which take place” does not use the correct tense for an event last week. There are also agreement and article problems in “All the staff member” and “in main hall of hotel.” The final suggestion, “increse some space and chairs,” is not formed as a clear, complete request. Practise complete sentence patterns, past-tense reporting, and agreement, then check articles and punctuation when revising.
