Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Manager,

I am writing to give feedback regarding a event which was held on last weekend in your hotel.

This event was organised to celeberate annual achievements of Tesla company that was well arranaged by hotel staff.

There are alot of this which were profound from my point of view. Firsty, the theme of this event was great as it was decorated by fresh flowers which provided enthusical enviroment in this problem. Secondly, the menu options were excellent as staff was not only enjoy non -vegatarian but also some of vegetarian dishes were so delicious. The last but no least , lighting system and other amenties such as seating space were particularly was liked by most of staff.

However, there was one difficultly faced by most of employess as they strugged to found parking space . So, I would appreiparte if hotel will increase more parking slot and will some reserviors parking space for the guests in next time .

Thank you your time and consideration.

Yours faithfully,

Manpreet kaur.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The letter covers all three requested points: it identifies the event as Tesla’s annual achievements celebration, praises the flowers, food, lighting and seating, and raises the parking problem with a proposed solution. These details make the purpose clear and relevant. The event description and positive comments are more developed than the improvement point, which is brief and somewhat unclear: “increase more parking slot” and “reserviors parking space” do not specify exactly what arrangement is wanted. The opening also uses “Dear Manager” rather than the requested “Dear Sir / Madam,” though the closing is appropriate for a formal letter. To strengthen the response, explain the event’s scale or activities and state the parking request precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The information is arranged in a sensible sequence: purpose and event details, positive features, a problem, and a closing. Paragraphing helps distinguish the praise from the suggestion, while “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “However” guide the reader through the points. This gives the letter a coherent overall structure. Some linking is mechanical, however, and the list of positive features becomes difficult to follow in the sentence beginning “The last but no least.” The reference in “this problem” is also unclear, and the final request is hard to interpret. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each detail more directly—for example, explain how the parking difficulty affected guests before making a specific request.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The response attempts a range of vocabulary relevant to a hotel event, including “annual achievements,” “theme,” “menu options,” “lighting system,” and “parking space.” This is enough to communicate the main ideas, but inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning difficult to recover. Examples include “celeberate,” “arranaged,” “enthusical enviroment,” and “difficultly.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “profound from my point of view” and “increase more parking slot.” Choose familiar, precise expressions and check spelling carefully. More natural phrasing such as “the atmosphere was welcoming” and “provide additional parking spaces” would make the feedback clearer and more professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

There are attempts to use both simple statements and more complex structures, particularly “as it was decorated…” and “not only…but also…”. However, control is uneven, and errors in articles, verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction occur across the letter. For example, “a event” needs the correct article, “was held on last weekend” has an incorrect preposition pattern, and “lighting system and other amenties … were particularly was liked” has faulty agreement and an extra verb. The request “if hotel will increase…” also needs a more accurate conditional structure. Practise building clear sentences around one main clause, then check articles, tense, and subject–verb agreement before adding subordinate clauses.
