Dear Sir / Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Madam,
I am obliged to get an experience to organise a wedding in the Taj hotel. The wedding was held on the first sunday of November month. The hotel was booked for an entire week where each function was properly planned and executed. Additionally, families from both the sides accommodated themselves throughout the week with a great ease and comfort.
There are numerous things which distinguish this hotel from all of the rest hotels of city. The foremost advantage is it's location which is easily accessible to all as it is situated in the outskirts of the city. Conclusively, without facing the traffic congestion of the city one could reach there on time. Accordingly, the aura of hotel is extensively positive as it has in-built temple and huge big parks. Over and above, the common hall is extremely spacious which have occupied hundred guests without getting conjusted.
However, I observed there was a little special arrangements for children such as children park where they could play safely. To compel more customers, you could also some additional services such as saloon and spa.
Thank you for trusting our company for such a grand event.
My compamy would consider your place for upcoming events as well.
Yours faithfully,
Kim

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three required points: it describes the wedding and week-long booking, identifies the location, temple, parks and spacious hall as positives, and suggests child-friendly facilities and additional services. These details make the response relevant and give the manager a clear account of the event. However, some points are less fully developed than others. For example, the improvement request about children’s facilities is brief, and the suggestion of a salon and spa is not explained in relation to the event or guests’ needs. The closing also shifts to thanking the hotel for trusting the company, which is slightly unclear given the purpose of the letter. Explain the suggestions and keep the purpose consistently focused on feedback to the manager.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The information is arranged in a generally clear sequence: event details come first, followed by positive features, then suggestions and a closing. Paragraphing helps distinguish these functions, and linking expressions such as “Additionally” and “However” make the relationships between ideas understandable. This meets the expected level of overall organisation. Some connections, however, feel mechanical or do not express the relationship precisely: “Conclusively” and “Accordingly” are awkward transitions in this context, while “Over and above” adds another point without improving the flow. The final two sentences also seem to conflict slightly in purpose. Use simpler, more natural transitions and make the closing follow directly from the feedback and future business relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The response uses an adequate range for describing the event and hotel, including “accessible,” “traffic congestion,” “spacious,” and “accommodated.” It also attempts more formal expressions such as “foremost advantage” and “upcoming events,” showing some range beyond basic vocabulary. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “get an experience to organise,” “all of the rest hotels,” “a little special arrangements,” and “huge big parks.” There are also spelling errors in “conjusted” and “compamy.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Prefer familiar, accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, say “I was pleased to organise” and “other hotels in the city.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the relative clause in “which is easily accessible” and the subordinate clause beginning “where each function was properly planned.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. In “the first sunday of November month,” the article and noun phrase need correction; “the common hall … which have occupied” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an unclear verb construction; and “you could also some additional services” is missing a verb. The sentence beginning “However, I observed there was” also needs a clearer grammatical structure. These errors are noticeable but generally do not block communication. Practise agreement, articles, and complete modal verb patterns such as “could offer.”
